Scariest creature on land

I was in a debate with someone at school, and he was talking about how a bear is by far the scariest creature on land. I strongly opposed this. First of all, I don't see bears as scary at all. You want to give them their distance, but they're not scary. When the person asked me what the scariest creature on land was, I answered without a doubt, "Us."

I truly believe that we are the scariest. The boy said I was 'just being cynical', and while that may be true, I continued to make my point. I said, "Well, what if we put the bears in our shoes, and them in ours. All we know is that we are pushed out of our homes by these critters, and then they demolish it. The put in big, noisy and smelly things. Our food is gone, and every now and again, they kill one of us and mount the head on the wall as a trophy. If we kill one of them when they come to our home, that one of us is hunted and killed. I would be pretty dang scared."

Anyway, if you're reading this, I want to know. What do you think the scariest creature is and why?

  1. Man is probably the most "Dangerous" creature. Scariest creature? A teenager with a Driver's License. Why? A lot of teenagers believe they are indestructible and drive on the street like it is a video game. Couple that with a lack of concern for others, and the possibility of alcohol, and you get the World's Scariest Creature.

  2. I'd definitely agree with you. Aside from house cats were the only creatures that kill without reason.

  3. Well, my phobia[s] want me to say "bugs".

But, like you said? It's people.
Oddly enough... bugs and people seem to have some disturbing things in common.... like how they seem to be just about everywhere... and most of them won't care about your ["your" meaning other people, but "people" not meaning just humans] personal space.
Not to mention hive-mind tendencies... and invade-and-conquer behaviors... and probably other things I can't think of.

And I think I disagree about house-cats killing without reason... I think they have reasons... we just don't know/understand them.
...and if it's true? Welllll guess who domesticated them and started that behavior? Yeah. Humans.

  4. i agree with you humans really are the scariest beings on earth. we can create thing big enough to wipe out entire cities and and kill our own kind because no one's enough of a good person to leave a very simple problem alone. we can and are absolutely ruining the very place we live in and you know what? its even worse cause we know we're doing it and people are actualy still trying to justify those actions
